$128,349.00•$165,009.00 Essential Functions 1. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors 2. Must Maintain all records as per regulatory agencies requirements-CAP and NYSDOH. Must perform monthly and annual review of all required standards. 3. Writes and revises and maintains SOP's for policy and procedure manual 4. Assists in Cytology Aspiration procedures that are scheduled from Ambulatory Surgery, Breast Imaging, Endoscopy, Off Site Radiology, and Radiology Department. 5. Screens gynecological and non-gynecological cases on a daily basis and in a timely manner. 6. Sign out cases with the Pathologist on (according to schedule) 7. Assists with preparation, staining and coverslipping of cytology specimens as needed. 8. Labels all Cytology stained slides, compares name, number of slides, clinical information, and gross description against the Cytology requisitions. 9. Change and clean equipment and solutions in the Cytology Aspiration procedure tray, keep Cytology Aspiration procedure supplies in tray stocked as needed. 10. Schedules per diem coverage and supervises same. 11. Prepares and submits quality control/quality assurance reports. 12. Meets regularly with Laboratory Director and Administrator. 13. Maintains CME log for all members of section. 14. Interviews cytology candidates for employment. 15. Maintains and writes competency reviews for Cytotechnologists. 16. Assists with cytotechnologists performance appraisals. 17. Assists with disciplinary action as needed for Cytology. 18. Orders supplies and maintains inventory. 19. Participates in any other departmental activities as directed by the Laboratory Director or Pathology Supervisor. 20. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Qualifications BS with ASCP registry and/or certified cytology school degree required 1-3 years 3 years minimum experience screening gynecological, non-gynecological specimens and fine needle aspirations Required Familiar with Bethesda system for Cytology reporting. Attention to detail Adaptability, flexibility Organized Requires frequent use of computers and other office and laboratory equipment. Must be able to rapidly assess and respond to situational needs of the department.
