POSITION SUMMARY
Under direct and indirect supervision, the Dental Assistant supports the Dentist in both clinical and administrative responsibilities. Duties include preparing patients for treatment, assisting during procedures, sterilizing, and disinfecting instruments, setting up trays and materials, taking diagnostic records, and providing exceptional patient support and care. This position plays an important role in maintaining efficient daily operations while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Dentist chairside during examinations and dental procedures Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient care Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment in accordance with OSHA and office protocols Expose and process dental diagnostic radiographs Take and record medical and dental histories, vital signs, and treatment information in patient charts Assist during administration of nitrous oxide Make preliminary impressions and occlusal registrations for study casts Clean and polish removable dental appliances Maintain accurate and timely patient records Support patient comfort through attentive, compassionate care Assist with dental and medical emergencies according to office and OSHA procedures Maintain current CPR certification Perform routine equipment maintenance and identify maintenance needs when necessary Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all patient and team interactions according to HIPPA Adhere to office policies, attendance expectations, and assigned work schedules Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities and priorities Collaborate positively with team members to support overall office success Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program preferred Minimum of two (2) years of dental assisting experience required Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control standards Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, adaptable, and detail-oriented with a positive attitude If you are a dedicated Dental Assistant with a passion for patient care and teamwork, we encourage you to apply and become part of our growing dental family.
