Orthodontic Dental Assistant Summary:

The Orthodontic Dental Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the dental standards of Arizona. This is a traveling position to support our Buckeye, Avondale, West Olive and Phoenix Tiny Teeth offices. Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists the doctor in orthodontic procedures Takes x-rays Takes IO's Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth Instructs patients on oral hygiene Charts cavities and teeth with doctor Sterilizes instruments Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor

Qualifications:

Education and/or

Experience:

Certification from a dental college OR three to six months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

X-Ray certification BLS certification 8-hour Infection Control certification required 2-hour Dental Practice Act
