Job Description

About Us Desert Foothills Dental is a well-established, privately owned practice driven by a singular purpose: to build lifelong relationships based on trust by treating our patients holistically. We firmly believe in a drama-free, positive, and stable work environment where team members genuinely enjoy coming to work. We do not just look at resumes; we hire for mindset and character first. Our practice culture is strictly defined by three core values:
Humble:
We leave egos at the door, own our mistakes, and are always ready to learn and improve.
Hungry:
We are proactive self-starters who take ownership of our metrics and drive daily results.
Heart:
We bring empathy, kindness, and steadiness . Team stability is our heartbeat—we protect our patients and our coworkers by showing up consistently. The Objective We are seeking an exceptionally reliable, highly adaptable, and growth-minded Assistant Office Manager to serve as the operational anchor of our front office. This is not just a desk job; it is a leadership track position meant for someone who aspires to grow into a full Office Manager role as our practice scales. Because our clinical team, doctors, and patients rely heavily on this role to start the day, exceptional attendance is a non-negotiable requirement. If you have a history of chronic absenteeism, frequent last-minute personal emergencies, or difficulty arriving on time for a 7:15 AM huddle, this position will not be a good fit for you.
Key Responsibilities Schedule Engineering:
Maximize daily production goals by actively managing schedule gaps, recall lists, and treatment follow-ups.
Financial & Treatment Coordination:
Confidently present multi-phase treatment plans, navigate insurance breakdowns, and handle patient financial boundaries with clarity and ease.
Digital Front Door Management:
Maintain absolute ownership of our communication systems (texting, emails, online forms) to ensure no patient request falls through the cracks.
Team Support & Cross-Training:
Partner closely with our Business Manager to cross-train administrative staff, ensuring the front office operates seamlessly at all times. What We Are Looking For 1. Absolute Reliability (The Anchor) You are someone whose word is gold. Your previous employers would rate your punctuality and attendance a perfect 10/10. You understand that when one person calls off, the stress falls entirely on your teammates, and you take pride in being the person everyone can count on. 2. Tech Adaptability & Quick Learning Our practice utilizes cutting-edge dental technology and software ecosystems (including Open Dental and Flex). You must be highly comfortable troubleshooting, learning new digital systems quickly, and using data spreadsheets to track daily practice metrics. 3. A Desire for Professional Growth You aren't looking for a repetitive job to just punch a clock. You are hungry to learn the inner workings of dental business systems, open to constructive calibration, and looking for a long-term professional home where your leadership skills will be directly rewarded. Requirements Minimum 2+ years of dental front office or dental assisting experience (General dentistry preferred). High proficiency with modern dental software (Open Dental / Flex experience is a massive plus). Strong verbal and written communication skills with a warm, professional phone presence. Valid Arizona X-ray or Coronal Polish certifications are a plus but not required for this track. Benefits Competitive base pay starting at $24.00/hr with a clear, performance-based growth track. Paid Time Off (PTO) & Paid Holidays. 401(k) / Retirement planning. Dental care benefits for you and immediate family. A supportive, stable, and completely drama-free working environment.
