We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and team oriented orthodontic assistant who can work confidently and independently while also collaborating effectively with the doctor and the rest of the team. The ideal candidate is comfortable taking ownership of appropriate clinical tasks and orthodontic procedures that do not require direct doctor assistance, while understanding when collaboration, communication, or doctor involvement is needed. Responsibilities:

Assist the orthodontist with patient care and orthodontic treatment procedures Provide efficient and compassionate chairside assistance throughout patient appointments Prepare treatment rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment Sterilize instruments and follow appropriate infection control protocols Take accurate orthodontic records, including intraoral scans, photographs, and CBCT imaging as needed Update patient charts and document treatment accurately and promptly Assist with orthodontic procedures including braces, aligners, expanders, and other orthodontic appliances Provide patient and parent education regarding orthodontic treatment, oral hygiene, appliances, and home care Work comfortably with children, teenagers, and adult patients Follow HIPAA requirements and maintain strict patient confidentiality Communicate effectively with the doctor, clinical team, and front office to ensure smooth patient flow Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and clinical efficiency Be willing to learn new technologies, procedures, and techniques as the practice continues to evolve Qualifications & Experience Must hold the appropriate California dental assisting license, registration, or permit required for the clinical duties of this position Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an orthodontic assistant or dental assistant in an orthodontic setting Strong understanding of orthodontic procedures, terminology, instruments, and equipment Experience assisting with orthodontic treatment procedures Experience taking digital orthodontic records, including intraoral scans and dental imaging Comfortable working with digital technology and learning new clinical systems Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills Friendly, positive, and professional demeanor Comfortable working with pediatric patients and families Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced clinical environment Strong teamwork and willingness to assist wherever needed
