This energetic position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced dental professionals in a fast-paced, friendly environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will support clinical procedures, ensure infection control standards are met, and help create a comfortable experience for every patient. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our practice and the health of our patients. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support with precision and care. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while maintaining strict adherence to dental x-ray safety standards and clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote ongoing dental health. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting with billing processes using patient management software. Follow all dental sterilization procedures for instruments and equipment to uphold infection control standards in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices. Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and familiarity with dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners is essential. Knowledge of EMR systems like Open Dental is required for efficient patient data management. Strong understanding of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare infection prevention protocols is necessary to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Experience performing dental instrument processing, aseptic technique implementation, and dental sterilization procedures will be advantageous. Ability to assist with various dental procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry demonstrates versatility in supporting diverse clinical needs.
