Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Coordinating physician and community outreach programs
  • Assisting with the preparation of correspondence to patients
  • Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with referring physician offices
  • Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information
  • Continuing education in fields pertaining to position
  • Reading assigned material to further education/development
  • Preparing patient, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting dentist during dental procedures
  • Recording treatment information in patient records
  • Taking and recording medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients
  • Providing post-operative instructions prescribed by dentist
  • Cleaning and polishing removable appliances
  • Performing other work-related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Thorough computer skills utilizing software used to store and retrieve patient and office information
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and preventative measures (HIPAA, infection control)
