Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic role, you will support dentists during a variety of procedures, ensure smooth clinic operations, and create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will help us maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop X-ray images while adhering to strict HIPAA and infection control protocols. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like
OPEN DENTAL
ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist. Maintain aseptic technique and infection control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Assist with medical imaging procedures such as 3D scanning and vital signs monitoring when necessary. Collaborate in four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency during procedures by working seamlessly alongside the dentist. Keep up-to-date with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and current best practices in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting with familiarity in dental assisting procedures. Knowledge of EMR systems such as
OPEN DENTAL
; experience with Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and accurately; certification in radiography preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in supporting various specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure. Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is desirable.
