Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring strict adherence to sterilization procedures and infection prevention management. Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry by providing chairside support and handling dental instruments efficiently. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining patient safety through proper radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records and medical documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care routines, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote optimal dental health. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for pediatric dentistry patients to ensure comprehensive care. Support the dental reception area by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow with patient management software, and handling administrative tasks with professionalism. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic technique to ensure efficient clinical workflows. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and infection control protocols aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards. Experience with dental sterilization procedures, dental instrument processing, and infection prevention management to uphold clinical safety standards. Familiarity with EMR system open dental for accurate medical records management. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry settings. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment supporting general dentistry practices and specialized treatments like oral surgery or pediatrics.
