In this vital role, you will support oral surgeons during complex procedures, ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, and facilitate a welcoming environment for patients undergoing oral surgery treatments. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help us deliver top-tier dental care in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. Duties Prepares treatment room and executes proper tray set up by following prescribed procedures and protocols Follows infection control protocol in preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment Takes radiographs, digital scans, impressions, vital signs and assists the dentist during examinations and treatment Assists the dentist in the delivery IV sedation by continuously monitoring the patient and keeping proper records Maintains crash carts, assists the dentist and leads other assistants in planning for and responding to medical emergencies Monitors patients in recovery and reports changes in patient symptoms notifying the dentist as needed Provides pre and postoperative instructions as prescribed and directed by the dentist Records treatment, medical and dental histories and vital signs of patient in the patient's chart Ensures that patient records are accurate and complete, and that patient confidentiality is strictly maintained Ensures all operatories always have all necessary supplies Monitors and organizes outgoing/incoming patient updates referrals Conducts work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines Maintains an appropriate office environment Assists with other duties as assigned
Hours:
Monday-Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm and Friday 6:45 to 3:45am

Required Preferred Requirements:
Proven experience as a dental assistant with familiarity in oral surgery settings Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to oral surgery procedures Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools Strong understanding of infection prevention management and healthcare infection control practices Ability to effectively use patient management software for scheduling, documentation, and record keeping Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients and their families when necessary Commitment to maintaining clinical confidentiality policies while delivering compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment
Pay:
$20.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
