Job Description

The Orthodontic Dental Assistant supports our orthodontic team in delivering high-quality care and exceptional patient experiences. This role involves chairside assistance, preparing treatment areas, maintaining instruments, and ensuring a smooth flow during patient appointments. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with children and teens in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients for orthodontic treatment with a friendly, caring attitude. Assist the orthodontist chairside during exams, bonding, wire changes, and debonding procedures. Take and process orthodontic records, including digital x-rays, photos, and scans. Prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain operatory cleanliness according to OSHA and HIPAA standards. Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment progress. Update patient charts accurately in the practice management system. Manage orthodontic supplies and inventory as directed by the lead assistant or manager. Support front office and clinical team members to ensure efficient daily operations. Participate in team meetings, trainings, and company initiatives that align with our core values and culture.
Qualifications:
Prior orthodontic assisting experience is a plus, but not required — we're happy to train the right. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to make patients feel comfortable and cared for. Adaptable and dependable, with a willingness to learn new systems, tools, and techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with patients and team members. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Positive, can-do attitude with a genuine passion for helping children and families. Team-oriented mindset and a commitment to upholding the company's values and standards of care.
Why You'll Love Working With Us:
Supportive and positive team culture that values growth and collaboration. Ongoing training and career development opportunities. Opportunities to participate in community and school outreach events. A fun, upbeat environment where smiles truly matter!
