Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional oral healthcare! In this energetic role, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality treatments while ensuring patient comfort and safety. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their dental experience. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient satisfaction. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary supplies in accordance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques. Take X-ray images while maintaining proper radiation safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support administrative tasks by greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation. Provide chairside assistance by taking vital signs, explaining procedures using dental terminology, and assisting with medical imaging procedures. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment, adhering to infection control standards and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Practice-web, or Open Dental to accurately document patient information and treatment details. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with team members and patients. Experience with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, aseptic technique, and chairside support during various procedures. Ability to operate X-ray machines safely while understanding radiation safety protocols; familiarity with medical imaging tools like 3D scanners is a plus. Knowledge of infection control practices specific to dental clinics to prevent cross-contamination. Experience working with pediatric patients in pediatric dentistry settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations for safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality. Ability to handle medical coding for billing purposes accurately and efficiently. $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
