Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control, and support the delivery of high-quality dental care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team committed to patient comfort and clinical excellence, utilizing advanced dental technology and electronic health records systems. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Record vital signs and medical history of patients; update and manage electronic medical records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain infection control standards through proper sterilization and handling of dental instruments. Assist with medical imaging and documentation, ensuring accurate medical coding and record keeping. Support front desk duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist. Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations including HIPAA and OSHA standards. Requirements Valid Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license or certification. Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting; experience with general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, or endodontics is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical documentation and records management. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and medical terminology. Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely; experience with 3D scanners is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Excellent chairside assisting skills including four-handed dentistry techniques. Ability to accurately take vital signs and perform medical imaging procedures. Effective communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with team members. A proactive approach to infection control practices and maintaining a sterile environment.
