Job Title:
Lab Technician - Bilingual Spanish (DA)Job Description This Lab Technician position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume women's health environment while gaining hands-on experience in both front and back office operations. The role involves supporting laboratory functions, assisting with insurance verification and documentation, and working closely with a diverse patient population, many of whom are Spanish speaking. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates who are driven, sharp, and eager to learn and build a long-term career in the medical field. Responsibilities + Support daily laboratory operations in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting. + Assist with lab instrumentation setup, operation, and basic maintenance under supervision. + Perform sterilization of instruments and maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment. + Handle insurance verification accurately and efficiently for patients. + Complete and maintain thorough documentation for lab work, patient records, and administrative tasks. + Process and manage referrals in accordance with clinic procedures and timelines. + Utilize Athena and NextGen electronic medical record (EMR) systems to enter, update, and retrieve patient information. + Support both front and back office functions, including patient intake, scheduling, and basic clinical support tasks as needed. + Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, many of whom are Spanish speaking, to explain procedures, gather information, and provide instructions. + Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff in a women's health setting to ensure smooth patient flow and quality care. + Follow established protocols for lab safety, infection control, and sterilization procedures. + Adapt to changing priorities and patient volumes while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Essential Skills + Experience or strong interest in working in a fast-paced, high-volume medical or laboratory environment. + Fluency in Spanish, including the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish confidently with patients and colleagues. + Proficiency with Athena EMR for entering and managing patient information. + Ability to perform administrative tasks such as documentation, insurance verification, and referrals with accuracy. + Basic knowledge or experience with lab instrumentation and sterilization processes. + Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse patient population. + Demonstrated ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-volume setting. + Eagerness to learn and take direction, especially for entry-level candidates seeking to develop a career in healthcare. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working in a women's health clinic or similar healthcare environment. + Familiarity with NextGen EMR or other electronic medical record systems. + Previous experience in a lab technician, medical assistant, or front/back office healthcare role. + Strong administrative skills, including accurate data entry and documentation. + Demonstrated interest in building a long-term career in the medical or healthcare field. + Ability to work effectively in both front office (administrative) and back office (clinical support) capacities. Work Environment The role is based in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting focused on women's health, serving a large number of Spanish-speaking patients. You will work with modern electronic medical record systems, including Athena and NextGen, and handle lab instrumentation and sterilization equipment as part of daily operations. The position requires flexibility to work at multiple locations, including Van Nuys or Plaza, depending on operational needs. You will collaborate closely with clinical and administrative teams in a professional medical environment that emphasizes hands-on training, skill development, and strong patient care. Dress expectations align with a typical clinical setting, requiring professional, clean, and appropriate attire suitable for both patient-facing and laboratory work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
