The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent patient care skills, and a comprehensive understanding of dental terminology and infection control protocols. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dentists during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. This position offers an engaging environment where you can apply your technical expertise and contribute to improving patients' oral health. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside support. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and relevant dental terminology to promote optimal oral health. Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team. Assist with advanced imaging techniques including 3D scanning when necessary for comprehensive diagnosis and treatment planning. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols related to medical imaging, X-ray safety, and HIPAA regulations. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records and medical documentation Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable for working with young patients effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients, staff, and healthcare providers. Certification in dental assisting or equivalent training is required; additional certifications in radiography or pediatric dentistry are advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care.
