The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of general dental procedures and patient care. This role involves overseeing the clinical team, ensuring compliance with best practices, and delivering high-quality dental services to our patients. The dental assistant will play a pivotal role in enhancing patient experiences while maintaining operational efficiency. Duties Supervise and mentor the clinical team, providing guidance on best practices in dental care. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Manage patient flow and assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry. Utilize EMR systems for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping. Perform X-ray imaging and other medical imaging techniques as required. Conduct vital signs assessments and maintain infection control protocols within the clinic. Collaborate with dental receptionists to ensure seamless patient scheduling and communication. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and various specialties including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Train staff on aseptic techniques and ensure adherence to safety standards in the clinic. Assist in the implementation of new technologies such as 3D scanners to enhance patient treatment plans. Qualifications Previous experience in a dental clinic setting with a focus on orthodontics is preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems. Strong understanding of medical documentation, coding, and record management practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while managing multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and team members professionally. A commitment to ongoing education in dental practices and advancements in orthodontics. Certification in dental assisting or equivalent experience is required.
