Responsibilities Assist dentists with clinical procedures, including chairside support during restorative, endodontic, oral surgery, and prosthodontic treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology, adhering to dental x-ray safety standards Manage patient records using Open Dental system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Gather vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care planning Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits Maintain clinical cleanliness by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient management software, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices and pediatric dentistry preferred Proficiency in dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical terminology relevant to dental care Familiarity with dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, sterilization tools, and other dental instruments Experience with EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; ability to navigate patient management software efficiently Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control policies Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency during procedures Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Excellent communication skills for patient management and team collaboration; ability to explain procedures clearly and empathetically Certification in dental assisting or related fields is highly desirable; CPR certification preferred Spanish speaking preferred!
