In this role, you will support dentists during clinical procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the smooth operation of daily dental practice activities. Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during examinations, procedures, and treatments including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient appointments. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as dental X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and answering questions to promote comfort and understanding. Maintain infection prevention protocols through proper sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and adherence to healthcare infection control standards. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient management software, and assisting the dental receptionist with patient check-in/out processes. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and clinical procedures including dental instrument processing and sterilization techniques. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras (such as 3D scanners), and other clinical tools effectively. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and healthcare safety standards related to dental sterilization procedures. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain treatments clearly and compassionately to patients of all ages including pediatrics. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with proficiency in taking vital signs and assisting with oral surgery or endodontic procedures is preferred. Certification in radiography or X-ray certification required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics are a plus. Why Join Green Street Dental Pasadena?
