Duties Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontics and oral surgery with precision and professionalism. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays using digital imaging systems such as dental x-ray equipment and 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards. Manage patient records accurately ensuring all documentation complies with clinical confidentiality policies. Perform vital signs assessments and dental imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care. Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures to maintain infection control standards. Support front desk operations by assisting the dental receptionist with patient management software, appointment scheduling, and answering patient inquiries. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans using clear dental terminology. Maintain clinical cleanliness by adhering to infection prevention protocols and ensuring all dental equipment is properly sanitized after each use. Assist with dental equipment troubleshooting and basic maintenance to ensure optimal operation during procedures. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic environment with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures. Knowledge of infection control practices including sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Hands-on experience with dental X-ray techniques, including intraoral radiography and 3D imaging technology. Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, dental instruments, and equipment operation. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients about treatments while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
