In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing advanced chairside procedures, assisting with complex dental treatments, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your expertise in dental assisting, combined with your ability to handle diverse responsibilities, will contribute to creating a positive and efficient environment for both patients and staff. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments with precision and confidence. Perform expanded functions such as placing fillings, applying sealants, taking impressions, and fabricating temporary restorations following state regulations and clinic protocols. Take and develop high-quality X-ray images while maintaining strict adherence to infection control and radiation safety standards. Manage medical documentation by accurately recording patient medical histories, vital signs, and treatment notes within electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure proper sterilization and aseptic techniques are followed to maintain a safe clinical environment. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, updating patient records in Epic or other systems, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance and effective communication. Requirements Valid Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification or license as required by state law. Proven experience working in a general dentistry practice with proficiency in chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and aseptic technique. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices including working with pediatric patients and understanding pediatric-specific procedures. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics; ability to explain procedures clearly using appropriate dental terminology.
