The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in a dental office, a current California RDA license, a strong understanding of pediatric dental procedures, and excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin. A genuine commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to children — including those with special needs — is essential. Serve as an interpreter for Mandarin-speaking patients and families during check-in, examinations, treatment, and check-out, ensuring clear understanding of diagnoses, care, and instructions. Translate verbal and written communications — including post-operative instructions, appointment details, and consent discussions — between providers and Mandarin-speaking families. Maintain accurate patient records and information in full compliance with HIPAA regulations. Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff. Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, in English and Mandarin as needed. Manage appointment scheduling, including confirming visits and handling cancellations. Support the front desk with administrative tasks as needed, including responding to inquiries from our Mandarin-speaking community. Stay current on advancements in pediatric dental technology and procedures, including sedation and care for patients with special needs. Required Qualifications Current California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in good standing. Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken); ability to read and write Chinese is a strong plus. 2+ years of experience in a dental office (pediatric experience preferred). Working knowledge of infection control practices and dental/medical terminology. Proficiency with dental practice-management software for managing patient records. Preferred Qualifications Additional proficiency in Cantonese. Experience assisting with pediatric, sedation, or special-needs cases. Expanded RDA functions (e.g., coronal polishing, sealants) where applicable. What We're Looking For Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with children and parents alike. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and warmth. Why Join Us Join a team where your bilingual skills make a direct, daily difference — helping Mandarin-speaking families understand their child's care and feel truly at home in our practice.
