In this vital role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth clinical flow through four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental radiography safety protocols and radiation exposure guidelines. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, medical coding, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, managing patient comfort, and supporting pediatric patients with gentle reassurance. Process dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and infection control policies to maintain clinical confidentiality policies and uphold healthcare infection prevention standards. Support the dental reception team by managing appointment scheduling through patient management software and coordinating patient flow efficiently. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Epic is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment operation, and clinical procedures including dental x-ray techniques and oral surgery assistance. Experience in pediatric dentistry is advantageous for working with young patients effectively. Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment. Ability to perform medical imaging accurately while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members such as dental receptionists, hygienists, and other specialists while maintaining professional confidentiality at all times.
