Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant or Dental Assistant, working on the beautiful Central Coast of Ca. dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. This role offers a flexible schedule with work on Mondays & Wednesdays in San Luis Obispo, Ca. & Tuesdays & Thursdays in Nipomo, Ca. Flexibility on morning start times is available. This position requires your attendance at both offices. Your expertise will help ensure smooth clinic operations, uphold clinical confidentiality policies, and promote optimal patient experiences. Duties Assist the dentist during a wide range of dental procedures. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments following infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take digital dental X-rays and intra-oral photographs while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Practice Web & Dexis Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, managing dental instruments, and supporting four-handed dentistry for efficient workflow. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of medical documentation and patient information. Follow all clinical confidentiality policies while maintaining high standards of infection control and sterilization procedures in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Conduct health history updates, assist with treatment planning when necessary, and support the overall smooth operation of the dental clinic. Skills Proficiency in Practice Web & Dexis a plus but happy to train! Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical procedures across general dentistry and specialties like pediatric dentistry and oral surgery. Experience with dental equipment including X-ray machines, intra oral cameras, sterilization devices, and other dental instruments. Skilled in infection prevention management practices including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures. Ability to perform dental X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to manage patient management software efficiently. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Effective communication skills suitable for working alongside dentists, hygienists, patients, and administrative staff in a fast-paced setting.
