Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Immediate Dental Assistant/Registered Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our practice. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing advanced dental technology and fostering a positive patient experience. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in dental procedures, infection control, and medical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, Oral Surgery, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays and utilize 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records within electronic dental record such Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting duties, including taking vital signs, medical history documentation, and explaining procedures to patients to foster understanding and trust. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing dental and medical records, and coordinating with the dental receptionist to optimize patient flow. Maintain a thorough knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and documentation across all clinical activities. Uphold rigorous infection control standards through proper sterilization techniques and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Assist with dental imaging procedures and recordkeeping related to both dental and medical documentation for comprehensive patient care. Collaborate effectively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure; experience as a Dental Assistant is highly preferred. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry settings. Proficiency in Dentrix; experience with Dexis or similar platforms is advantageous. Strong knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization protocols. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners accurately. Familiarity with dental terminology, dental coding, and documentation standards aligned with HIPAA compliance. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, providing compassionate care. Knowledge of dental assisting procedures such as chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and maintaining clinical supplies. Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
