Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support a community health clinic focused on providing high-quality, accessible dental care to underserved populations. This role plays a key part in supporting dentists and ensuring an efficient, patient-centered environment while promoting oral health education within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including exams, cleanings, fillings, and extractions Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and operatories in accordance with infection control standards Obtain and record patient medical and dental histories accurately Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as permitted by state regulations Provide chairside support, including suctioning, instrument transfer, and patient comfort Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Support community outreach efforts and promote oral health awareness when needed Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment Ensure compliance with all safety, sterilization, and regulatory protocols Assist with scheduling, patient flow, and other administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred Active Dental Assistant certification and/or Radiology (X-ray) license as required by state BLS/CPR certification required Previous experience in community health, public health, or high-volume dental settings preferred Strong understanding of infection control standards and dental procedures Experience with electronic dental records systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) preferred Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tracy, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00
  • $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
