In this vital role, you will support dentists during clinical procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure that our dental practice operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient appointments. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Support dental sterilization procedures to maintain the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality policies. Coordinate with the dental reception team to schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle administrative tasks efficiently. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with patient management software is highly desirable. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health. Knowledge of dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools. Ability to perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management effectively. Excellent communication skills for working with patients of all ages including pediatrics; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus. Demonstrated ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive medical records and documentation. Certification in dental assisting or related fields preferred; additional training in oral surgery or endodontics is advantageous.
