Job Description

Our office is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant who loves dentistry, people, and life! We're hopeful to find someone with at least 1 year of dental assisting experience who is confident, capable, and—most importantly—a genuinely fun person to work with. This is a little different from a traditional dental assisting position. Your primary role will be keeping our clinical side running smoothly: sterilization, turning over and setting up rooms, keeping us organized and ahead of schedule, and helping make sure our patients have an exceptional experience. But we also want someone who knows dentistry and can jump in when we need them. You'll occasionally assist chairside and help with things like whitening trays, retainers, in-office whitening, impressions/scanning, and other clinical tasks. We do not use EDDAs. Our dentist does the dentistry. We're looking for an assistant who takes pride in being an incredible support person, anticipates what the team needs, and understands how important their role is to a great day.
Our ideal person:
Has 1+ year of dental assisting experience Is comfortable jumping in chairside when needed Is organized, efficient, and takes initiative Loves interacting with patients Is dependable and a team player Doesn't need to be micromanaged Has a great sense of humor and is FUN to work with And, yes, still loves the SH•T out of dentistry! ;) We have an outstanding, long-term team and provide high-quality dentistry to our community in downtown Lafayette. We work hard, take great care of our patients, and genuinely like spending our days together.
Schedule:
2-3 days/week, 8-5. •Our schedule varies—we work Monday-Wednesday some weeks and Tuesday-Thursday others. The good news? You'll know the schedule a full year in advance, making it easy to plan appointments, trips, and life outside of work. No Fridays and no weekends!
Pay:
$20-25/hour, depending on experience If you're an experienced assistant who loves dentistry but might be ready for a role that's a little less chairside, a little more variety, and part of a really great team, we'd love to meet you. Please send us your resume and a short note telling us why you'd be a great addition to our team. Check us out at DentistLafayette.com.
