Foothills Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a skilled and compassionate Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) to join our well-established pediatric dental team. Experience & Key Responsibilities:
Assist the dentist with expanded dental procedures and duties, ensuring all materials and instruments are prepared and available Stay a step ahead of the doctor by knowing all necessary materials and supplies for patient treatments Provide clear and compassionate verbiage to explain procedures and care instructions to patients and parents Perform triage for parents and patients, addressing concerns and gathering relevant information Execute proper four-handed pass-off techniques to ensure seamless handoffs of instruments and materials during procedures Maintain a clean and organized operatory, adhering to infection control protocols Support patient comfort and anxiety management throughout dental visits Document patient information accurately and update records as needed
Requirements:
Current Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) certification required Previous pediatric dental experience preferred Knowledge of dental procedures, materials, and expanded-duty functions Strong communication and patient care skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment Positive attitude, patience, and team-focused mindset Team members are expected to uphold the culture outlined in the SDB Handbook, with a focus on our core values and any additional responsibilities as defined
