In this energetic role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Your expertise in dental procedures, infection control, and patient communication will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures. Assist dentists chairside during examinations, restorations, endodontic treatments, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment while maintaining proper radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Open Dental, ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout treatments. Maintain strict infection control standards through aseptic techniques and sterilization of instruments in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, managing medical documentation, and assisting with medical coding when necessary. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools confidently. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times. Excellent communication skills to effectively assist patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
