Orthodontic Dental Assistant Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics - 2.0 New Britain, CT Job Details Part-time $24 - $29 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description At Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, the Orthodontic Dental Assistant plays an essential role in creating an exceptional patient experience while supporting the clinical team in delivering high-quality orthodontic care. You are a key part of helping appointments run smoothly, ensuring patients feel comfortable, and supporting efficient clinical operations throughout the day. Schedule :
2-3 days per week Responsibilities Create a welcoming and positive experience for patients by helping them feel comfortable and informed throughout their orthodontic visit Assist the Orthodontist during a variety of orthodontic procedures, including adjustments, bonding, debonding, retainer appointments, and other clinical treatments Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials to ensure appointments run efficiently and on schedule Take diagnostic records, including digital x-rays, photographs, and scans/impressions as needed Educate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, retainers, aligners, and post-treatment instructions to support successful outcomes Monitor patient flow and work closely with the clinical team to maintain an efficient schedule and minimize wait times Maintain accurate clinical documentation and update patient records as needed Follow all infection control, sterilization, OSHA, and HIPAA protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment area Collaborate closely with the orthodontic team to support exceptional patient care and day-to-day office operations Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management This is an opportunity to join a well-established, team-oriented orthodontic practice where your role is essential to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting a positive office culture. Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience is preferred Orthodontic experience strongly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with dental experience and a positive attitude Strong communication skills with the ability to help patients feel comfortable and supported during treatment Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment High attention to detail and commitment to quality patient care Team-oriented mindset with a positive, dependable attitude Comfort using orthodontic/dental software and digital imaging technology Current certifications and licensure as required by state regulations
