Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Take and record charts (charting notes)
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take dental x-rays and process them for the dentist's review
- Perform patient assessments and document medical history
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
- Proficiency in taking dental x-rays and processing them
- Knowledge of medical terminology and dental procedures
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Skills:
- Ability to chairside predict based on procedure (four-handed dentistry)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
