Duties Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of dental assistants and support staff, ensuring efficient clinic workflow Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic technique and infection control standards Perform chairside assisting with skills in four-handed dentistry, X-ray imaging, vital signs measurement, and medical documentation Manage electronic health records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accurate and compliant medical records and coding Educate patients about treatment plans, post-operative care, and oral health practices while addressing their questions professionally Oversee the use of advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment to support diagnosis and treatment planning Skills Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and HIPAA compliance regulations Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for scheduling, billing, and medical documentation Strong understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and pediatrics to accurately document patient records Experience in pediatric dentistry settings is highly desirable to effectively assist young patients Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety protocols Excellent communication skills to collaborate with dentists, hygienists, receptionists, and patients effectively Leadership qualities with the ability to train staff on best practices in dental assisting and clinic operations This role is perfect for motivated professionals eager to lead a dedicated team while advancing their skills in a supportive environment.
