Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments according to infection prevention management procedures. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry. Take and develop dental x-rays and medical imaging while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote optimal dental health. Assist the Dentist with lab and track the lab cases to ensure that it is moving as schedule. Qualifications Valid license or certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) within the DMV. Proven experience in dental assisting within general dentistry; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus. Proficiency with dental software including Dentrix familiarity with patient management software is preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and sterilization procedures. Skilled in taking dental x-rays (including dental x-ray certification) and utilizing 3D scanners or other advanced imaging technology. Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention protocols ( HIPAA and OSHA compliant ). Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and collaborate with team members such as dental receptionists and hygienists. Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently and confidently. Must be willing to work weekends.
