Hollywood, FL Job Details Part-time $16 - $24 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Training program Customer communication Anatomy knowledge High school diploma or GED Dental terminology Patient interaction Full Job Description Overview Join our dynamic orthodontic team as a Dental Assistant trainee specializing in Orthodontic Assisting within our state-of-the-art clinics located around Hollywood area. This paid internship offers a comprehensive training program designed to develop your skills in ORTHO chairside assisting, dental terminology, and orthodontic procedures. You will work closely with experienced orthodontists and dental professionals, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to launch a rewarding career in dentistry, with a focus on orthodontics and general dental practices. One lucky person chosen to get accepted into training to be orthodontic assistant. Must have been to dental assisting school to apply.
You will learn to:
1) Invisalign scanning. 2) Invisalign put on buttons. 3) Put on braces. 4) make vacuum retainers And more. Plus, you will study videos and materials to pass the ortho cert test. Assistants who do ortho or put on Invisalign buttons are breaking the law if do more than 6 months. We get you thru the training and all assistants have passed the test with us (up to you to study). Duties Assist orthodontists and dental practitioners during patient procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient treatment sessions. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and maintaining aseptic techniques to uphold infection control standards. Assist with ORTHO procedures when applicable, ensuring a friendly environment for young patients. Apply knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology to effectively communicate with team members and patients. Operate advanced dental technology such as 3D scanners for accurate orthodontic planning and prosthodontic assessments. Maintain strict infection control protocols following OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe environment for staff and patients. Participate in ongoing training ORTHO. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; interest in pursuing a career in dentistry or healthcare preferred. Strong interest in pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, or general dentistry with a desire to learn specialized skills. Basic understanding of medical terminology and dental terminology; willingness to learn technical language used in clinical settings. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages. Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere strictly to infection control procedures.
