Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use according to infection control standards. Assist dentist during various procedures by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and maintaining a clear field of operation. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Collect vital signs and medical history information from patients to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like OpenDental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow as a dental receptionist, and verifying insurance information. Practice four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency and comfort during procedures while maintaining aseptic techniques and proper anatomy knowledge. Qualifications Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting procedures. Knowledge of dental terminology, infection control practices, and anatomy relevant to oral health. Proficiency with dental software systems such as OpenDental for medical records management. Ability to operate X-ray machines safely and effectively; certification in radiography is required. Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages and collaborate effectively with team members.
