We're seeking a well‑qualified, motivated, and detail‑oriented Dental Assistant who speaks either Haitian creole or Jamaican patois (to help better serve our patients), to become a long‑term member of our team. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures, including restorations, extractions, and cosmetic treatments, ensuring smooth workflow and patient safety. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies prior to appointments. Perform chairside assisting with proficiency in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. Manage patient records accurately within electronic systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, including updating medical history and treatment notes. Monitor vital signs and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, post-operative instructions, and treatment plans. Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure a sterile environment. Assist with medical documentation, coding, and record-keeping for insurance claims and billing processes. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and managing correspondence. Utilize 3D scanners and other advanced dental technology to enhance diagnostic accuracy when applicable. Ensure compliance with all health regulations including OSHA standards and infection control guidelines. Skills Proficiency with dental charting and softwares is essential for efficient record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Experience with X-ray techniques, medical imaging, and pediatric dentistry procedures is highly desirable. Excellent chairside assisting skills with expertise in four-handed dentistry and aseptic technique. Ability to interpret dental terminology accurately for documentation and communication purposes. Familiarity with medical coding, HIPAA compliance, and medical records management ensures accurate billing and confidentiality. Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe clinical environment. Effective communication skills for interacting professionally with patients of diverse backgrounds including pediatrics. Ability to operate dental technology such as 3D scanners efficiently within a clinical setting.
