This energetic position offers the opportunity to combine clinical skills with administrative responsibilities, supporting a comprehensive range of dental services. You will be an integral part of a collaborative environment dedicated to promoting oral health, comfort, and education for patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help us maintain the highest standards of infection control, medical documentation, and patient experience. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, utilizing chairside assisting techniques and aseptic protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed according to HIPAA regulations. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring compliance with infection control standards and maintaining a sterile environment. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, accurately documenting patient information, medical history, vital signs, and treatment details. Perform expanded duties including vital signs measurement, medical imaging interpretation, 3D scanner operation, and assisting with complex procedures like prosthodontics or endodontics. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance coverage, coding procedures using medical coding standards, and maintaining organized medical documentation. Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations by safeguarding patient information and managing medical records securely. Support infection control protocols through proper sterilization techniques and aseptic procedures in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Facilitate effective communication among team members by translating dental terminology into understandable language for patients and documenting all interactions clearly. Qualifications Proven experience as a dental assistant with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix and Dexis. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards for radiation exposure. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry. Experience operating advanced equipment such as 3D scanners or medical imaging devices relevant to dental care. In office training is available. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage both clinical duties and administrative responsibilities efficiently. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred; ongoing training in pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics is advantageous.
