Job Description
Job Summary You & Us Dental Studio is seeking a reliable, energetic, professional, and team-oriented Dental Assistant to join our growing dental practice. We are looking for someone who takes pride in patient care, works efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of teamwork and flexibility in a dental office. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and willing to assist wherever needed to help the office operate smoothly. Schedule flexibility is an important requirement for this position. Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours and stay beyond the scheduled shift when necessary to complete patient care, procedures, sterilization, or end-of-day responsibilities. Responsibilities Provide excellent chairside assistance to our dentists using proper four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms before each patient, ensuring all instruments, materials, and equipment are properly set up and ready. Assist with general dentistry, restorative procedures, crowns and bridges, implants, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, Invisalign, and other dental procedures. Take high-quality digital dental X-rays, including periapical, bitewing, panoramic, and other required diagnostic images. Assist with digital scanning and 3D imaging equipment. Properly sterilize and disinfect instruments, operatories, equipment, and clinical areas according to infection-control and OSHA standards. Maintain proper sterilization flow and ensure instruments are processed, packaged, and available when needed. Accurately document clinical information, treatment performed, and necessary notes in Open Dental . Review patient charts and treatment needs before appointments to ensure the clinical team is properly prepared. Maintain treatment rooms fully stocked and immediately communicate when supplies need to be reordered. Assist with laboratory cases, impressions, digital scans, temporary restorations, and other clinical procedures as directed by the dentist. Provide patients with clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions. Help patients feel comfortable, welcomed, and cared for throughout their visit. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements at all times. Support the front desk when necessary, including greeting patients, scheduling, answering phones, and helping maintain an efficient patient flow. Work closely with doctors, front-office staff, and other team members to keep the schedule running efficiently. Complete assigned closing duties, sterilization, room turnover, and preparation for the following workday. Be willing to assist with additional responsibilities as needed for the successful operation of the practice. Requirements Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is strongly preferred . Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, instruments, materials, and infection-control protocols. Experience with Open Dental is preferred. Experience taking digital dental X-rays. Familiarity with digital scanners and dental technology is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent patient-care and communication skills. Professional, dependable, punctual, and responsible. Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy dental environment. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties required of a dental assistant. Must be comfortable assisting with a variety of procedures and learning new techniques. Bilingual English and Spanish is highly preferred. Must have schedule flexibility and be available to stay later than the scheduled shift when patient care or office needs require additional time. Must understand that the workday may occasionally extend beyond the scheduled closing time due to ongoing procedures, emergencies, patient needs, sterilization, or completion of clinical responsibilities.
