Your expertise in dental procedures, patient communication, and clinical assistance will help create a welcoming environment where patients feel cared for and confident in their treatment. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficiency and comfort. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining strict aseptic technique and infection control standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed to protect patients from radiation exposure. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, updating medical documentation accurately and securely in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging to support diagnosis and treatment planning. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist—scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient inquiries. Maintain clinical supplies, sterilize instruments, and uphold infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Assist with advanced technology usage such as 3D scanners for precise diagnostics or prosthodontic procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall dental health. Skills Proficiency with dental software platforms including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and communicate effectively within the team. Experience with chairside assisting techniques across various specialties like pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures to maintain a sterile clinical environment. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages—especially pediatrics—and collaborate seamlessly with the dental team. Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records efficiently. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy is always protected.
