Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly contribute to providing exceptional patient care and maintaining a smooth dental practice operation. In this vital role, you will support dentists by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and informed. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety standards. Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and records management. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining proper aseptic technique throughout procedures. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer their questions to promote ongoing dental health. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Skills Proficiency with dental software including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, medical imaging, and vital signs monitoring. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry principles and working with children in a clinical setting. Ability to perform chairside assisting in general dentistry procedures as well as specialized fields like endodontics or prosthodontics. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists; experience in medical coding is a plus. $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
