Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and ready for use. Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and efficiency. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate documentation of treatments and medical histories. Support infection control practices by following aseptic techniques and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment. Measure vital signs and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Act as a dental receptionist when needed, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the team on four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during chairside assisting. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to accurately assist in treatment planning and record keeping. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; experience with medical records management is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience supporting pediatric dentistry is a plus; familiarity with pediatrics' specific needs is highly valued. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Certification in radiography (X-ray license) required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are advantageous.
