Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection prevention management and dental sterilization procedures. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing necessary tools and support. Take dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray equipment while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, treatment plans, and medical documentation. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to enhance patient understanding and comfort. Maintain clinical cleanliness by following strict infection control protocols including aseptic technique and dental instrument processing to prevent cross-contamination. Support administrative functions by acting as a dental receptionist when needed—scheduling appointments, managing patient management software, and handling general inquiries with professionalism. Qualifications Experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental equipment, clinical procedures, and medical documentation standards. Proficiency in EMR systems such as OpenDental familiarity with patient management software is highly preferred. Experience in X-ray procedures, dental sterilization procedures, chairside assisting techniques (including four-handed dentistry), and infection control practices. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with oral surgery or endodontic procedures confidently. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatric dentistry cases.
