Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dental practice. This role combines clinical support with front desk responsibilities, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent patient care. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, dental terminology knowledge, and experience with electronic health records systems. Bilingual abilities and clinic experience are highly valued to enhance patient communication and service delivery. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in/check-out processes efficiently Schedule appointments using dental office management software such as OpenDental. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures Assist the dentist during procedures, including preparation and sterilization of instruments Document clinical notes, treatment plans, and procedures accurately in EMR/EHR systems like open dental and dexis Handle Dental billing, coding, and documentation review with attention to HIPAA compliance Manage phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone system operation Maintain accurate dental records and ensure proper filing of patient documents Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing medical records Support office management tasks including inventory management and clinic organization Requirements Prior experience in a dental or dental setting is preferred, including familiarity with dental terminology and office management software such as OpenDental Knowledge of Opendental, and a quick learner with other software used in the office Strong understanding of Dental coding, insurance verification, and Dental billing processes Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and typing (10 key) Ability to review documentation thoroughly while maintaining HIPAA compliance Bilingual capabilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and patient service orientation Clinic experience or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology is advantageous Strong organizational skills with clerical support abilities such as filing and document management Knowledge of health information management standards and medical administrative support practices Join our team to provide exceptional patient care while supporting the efficient operation of our dental practice.
