Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and radiation safety guidelines Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance procedure efficiency and patient comfort Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed for patient evaluation Maintain clinical cleanliness by following strict dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques in line with infection control policies Support patient management by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties Strong knowledge of dental instruments, equipment operation (including 3D scanners), medical documentation, and medical terminology Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, record keeping, and treatment planning Skilled in dental x-ray techniques with certification or training in radiography safety standards Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members such as dental receptionists and other clinical staff Familiarity with medical terminology related to oral health and anatomy knowledge for accurate patient assessment Embark on a rewarding career where your expertise directly impacts patients' smiles!
