Full Job Description Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour (based on experience) Job Overview Tommie Dental is a modern, patient-focused dental practice seeking a Dental Assistant who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about providing exceptional patient care. We offer comprehensive dentistry, including general, cosmetic, Invisalign, and implant treatment, giving our team the opportunity to continually learn and expand their skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the dentist during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, and Invisalign treatment. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up equipment, and ensuring all necessary materials are available for patient care. Take high-quality digital radiographs (X-rays) while following all radiation safety and infection control protocols. Perform chairside assisting utilizing efficient four-handed dentistry techniques to support smooth patient flow and clinical excellence. Fabricate and adjust temporary crowns and bridges as directed by the dentist. Educate patients on treatment procedures, oral hygiene recommendations, and post-operative instructions. Ensure patient comfort throughout treatment by providing a welcoming, compassionate, and professional experience. Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation using Eaglesoft and other dental software systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Operate and assist with modern dental technology, including digital imaging systems, intraoral scanners, and other diagnostic tools. Maintain inventory, organize clinical supplies, and ensure treatment areas meet OSHA and infection control standards. Assist with scheduling, patient communication, and other administrative duties as needed to support office operations. Collaborate effectively with doctors and team members to create a positive, productive, and patient-focused environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Previous dental assisting experience preferred. Current radiology certification required or ability to obtain as required by state regulations. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, instruments, and infection control protocols. Experience assisting with restorative, crown and bridge, cosmetic, and implant procedures preferred. Familiarity with Invisalign or orthodontic treatment workflows is a plus. Experience with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or other dental practice management software is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and dental office compliance requirements. Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team culture. Coronal polishing certification and expanded functions experience are a plus. Reliable, professional, positive attitude with a strong commitment to exceptional patient care.
