Position Summary Tampa Family Health Centers is seeking a Dental Assistant (EFDA) to support our dental care team. This role provides chairside assistance, supports clinical and administrative functions, and helps ensure a positive and efficient patient experience across multiple locations. The Dental Assistant works closely with dentists, hygienists, and leadership to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with TFHC policies and Florida regulations. Essential Responsibilities Assist dentists and hygienists with chairside procedures in a general dental setting Prepare operatory rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment and clinical areas Support front office functions, including scheduling and patient intake Submit pre-authorizations and maintain accurate patient records Coordinate with dental labs for case pickups and deliveries Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies Communicate effectively with patients and team members to support care compliance Travel to various TFHC locations and support the mobile dental unit as needed Assist with additional duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant program Florida Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification required Dental Radiology certification required Current CPR certification required Open to new graduates with completed in-person externship Skills & Abilities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and ability to follow clinical instructions Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Flexibility to travel between locations Commitment to patient care and professionalism Work Environment On-site clinical setting with travel between locations as needed May include mobile dental unit support and community outreach Fast-paced, patient-focused environment Benefits & Rewards TFHC offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and professional growth, including: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life, Disability, and AD&D Insurance Generous PTO and 7 paid company holidays 401(k) with employer contribution after one year Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Employee discount program Growth and development opportunities Pet Insurance Why Join TFHC? Please note that employee's initial training schedule may differ from the regular schedule of the position. All new hires, including part-time employees, must be available for up to 40 hours of in-person, on-site training during their first week. Additional Mandatory training may continue for approximately two to three weeks, depending on the position and training requirements. Training may take place at a TFHC location other than the employees assigned work location.
