Eligible Job Summary A Periodontal Dental Assistant supports periodontists and other dental professionals in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, as well as in related procedures such as implant care. This role blends clinical, technical, and administrative duties, requiring both dental expertise and strong patient care skills.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Assistance:
Assist the periodontist during periodontal, surgical, and implant procedures, preparing the treatment room and equipment Take medical histories, measure blood pressure, and prepare patients for treatment interviewguy.com. Make impressions for study casts and trim models as needed interviewguy.com. provide post-treatment care instructions Set up, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment; follow OSHA and CDC guidelines for infection control Schedule appointments, manage supplies, communicate with patients and suppliers, and perform computer-based office tasks Administer CPR and first aid; maintain awareness of patient comfort and safety during procedures Fast-paced dental office setting, often with direct patient contact.
