Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. This energetic position combines clinical support with front desk responsibilities, offering a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a positive patient experience. You will be the friendly face greeting patients, managing appointments, and supporting dental procedures with precision and professionalism. We are seeking a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about providing outstanding healthcare service. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and schedule appointments using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Manage multi-line phone systems, handle patient inquiries, and provide excellent customer service with professional phone etiquette. Prepare treatment rooms, assist dentists during procedures, and ensure all dental terminology and CPT coding are accurately documented. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and process medical collections efficiently utilizing systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Review documentation for accuracy, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and maintain meticulous dental records and medical files. Support medical billing processes including
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding, Medicare claims processing, and medical administrative support tasks. Handle administrative duties such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), appointment scheduling, and managing patient intake forms. Skills Proven experience in dental office settings with strong knowledge of dental terminology and clinic procedures. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Open Dental, or similar platforms. Solid understanding of medical coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification, and medical billing processes including Medicare claims. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; ability to navigate health information management systems efficiently. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and medical records management. Exceptional patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and courteous communication. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to assist diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with multi-line phone systems and front desk operations essential. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive health information.
