Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and chairside assisting techniques. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental clinic. Duties Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by providing four-handed dentistry support. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques. Take X-rays as needed, ensuring accurate medical imaging. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Manage patient flow by coordinating appointments and assisting with dental receptionist duties. Monitor vital signs and provide chairside assistance during various dental treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Utilize EMR systems for managing patient information effectively. Educate patients on oral hygiene care and post-treatment instructions. Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Skills Familiarity with medical documentation practices. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards. Experience in chairside assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry. Ability to perform medical imaging procedures such as X-rays and operate 3D scanners. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and coding. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory.
