RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of clinical and clerical duties to assist the dentist.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential:
standing, sitting, walking, stoop/bending, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting and carrying usual weight up to 5 pounds, pushing/pulling usual weight of 25 pounds, carrying usual weight of 2 pounds, reaching above, at, and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.
Occasional:
lifting weight up to 20 pounds, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, pushing/pulling weight up to 50 pounds. Operates dental equipment, medical equipment and office equipment.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Exposed to noise/vibration from dental equipment, x-rays, cleaning agents, chemicals, communicable diseases, body fluids and sharps. Works in a static position for prolonged periods with repetitive hand/arm motion.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
Completion of approved Dental Assistant training program or equivalent work experience. Current certification in
BLS/HCP. CDA
certification preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE
Experience to demonstrate knowledge and familiarity with computers and automated systems. Prior work experience as Dental Assistant preferred. Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Vet Your Health.
